Making public health information available in the right language matters. And is one of the ways the Red Cross and Red Crescent network can leverage social media platforms to widely distribute evidence-based info for keeping communities safe.

Our partners from the World Health Organization, posted an infographic with recommendations to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection:

Inspired by WHO’s version, our design colleague Muhamad Fadzil (JJ) from IFRC’s Asia Pacific team, made this infographic available on Canva. Using Canva ensured any of our Red Cross Red Crescent family could re-purpose and translate.

That infographic has been translated into at least 36 languages (and counting).

It shows:

  • The public demand for the information from an authoritative source.
  • The importance of swift communication at the right time.
  • How an initiative from the regional level can have global impact.
